pam
Pamela Jean Barnes

Pamela Jean Barnes was a daughter of Digger Barnes and Rebecca. When Pam was just a baby, her mother ran off. She and older brother, Cliff were raised by their aunt Maggie. Pam agreed to attend a Ewing BQQ with Ray Krebbs, the foreman at the Southfork Ranch. When Pam was dancing with Ray, a six-feet two tall, handsome guy came over and cut in to dance with her. Pam forgot Ray, the Barbecue, everything at that moment. It didn't matter this man was a Ewing; he was Bobby James Ewing. It was not until they ran into one another in New Orleans in 1978 that Pam and Bobby decided to marry in a quick ceremony.

Pam came to Southfork knowing that a Barnes was not welcome, but she had Bobby to wake up with in the morning; she had him in her arms at night and she had him to make a life with, to make a future. That made everything worth it. Pam had miscarrages twice and wanted a child so much. After Pam had a breakdown over not having a child of her own, she tried to kill herself by jumping off the top of Reunion Tower in downtown Dallas. Bobby got there in time to stop her, but it was clear that Pam would try again and was in need of psychiatric help. Later, Bobby brought Kristin Shepard's son, Christopher into their lives. Pam was so happy to have him.

Pam finally found her natural mother - Rebecca, who brought in her half sister, Katherine Wentworth. Pam was so happy that she had son and mother in her life that she lost for a long time. But the worst thing happened because Rebecca was dead in a plane crash when she was on her way trying to interfere with the Ewing oil fright. Pam blamed the Ewings and their war for Ewing Oil for her mother's death. She knew she could not stay in Southfork. Pam left Bobby. Meanwhile, the millionaire Mark Graison persistently offered help, love, and encouragement to Pam, but Pam found herself drawn into only a friendship with him, although Mark clearly wanted more. With JR's help, Katherine broke up Pam's marriage completely.

After the divorce, it hurt Pam deeply when she saw Bobby with Jenna again. It pushed her closer to Mark and grew more and more remote from Bobby. Soon Mark proposed, but Pam was not ready as she was not over Bobby. But she finally agreed to marry Mark as she learned he was dying. Mark left Pam with plane crash as he finally knew the reason why Pam agreed to marry him; he didn't want to be a burden on Pam. Mark left the letter behind and wished Pam to find her happiness with Bobby again. But that would be impossible as Bobby was going to marry Jenna.

During the time Bobby was tring to find any clue to get Jenna free from prison, Pam knew Bobby had to stand by Jenna even though she still loved Bobby desperately in her heart. No matter how much they loved each other, Pam realized Bobby had to marry Jenna after Jenna was released from prison. But Bobby knew Pam was always his love and asked Pam to marry him the night before he was killed off the next morning. Pam blamed herself for Bobby's death as he was tring to save her from the driveway. But that was all an aweful dream when Pam waked up and found Bobby in the shower in season 9. When Bobby and Pam remarried on the wedding day, they found out Jenna was pregnant with Bobby's child. Bobby knew he would be selfish if he asked Pam to marry him, but it made him sad that all those things and people tried to tear them apart and that'd happened before. Bobby said he had the feeling of losing Pam again and this time was going to be forever and that was one thing he couldn't stand. Finally, Pam and Bobby remarried; they stayed strong and managed to get over it together. Pam was trying hard to bury her pain of not being able to bear a child of her own. Sooner Pam rang Bobby on her car phone to tell him the good news of being able to have their child, but she didn't pay attention to the road and crashed into a tanker. Pam was suffering from massive 3rd degree burns and wrapped in bandages. When the bandages were removed Pam couldn't stand the pain and the lost of her beauty. She left Dallas and asked for a divorce leaving Bobby and Christopher alone.
